Capital campaign tips and tricks

A couple weeks ago our leader, Brian Risley sat in on a panel with Tyson Nunn (Nunn Construction) and Deb Mahan (Gazette Charities) where they talked about how non-profits can plan for capital projects.

Brian Risley was honored to be part of a panel to share his insight on the process of planning for capital projects.  He discussed the many pitfalls that can be associated with undertaking a building project, and offered insight on how to navigate the complexities.  Brian talked about the main key to a successful project – find a team that understands the mission and goals of your organization who can be an advocate and champion for your project.  CRP Architects demonstrates this on every project because we do not operate in a transactional mode, but rather through building strong relationships with our clients.  As a result, we become trusted advisors who know how to manage all aspects of a project – from fundraising, to conceptual design, to master planning, to full execution of a capital project.  The panel discussed how important it is to find local design and construction partners who understand the nuances of a local community.  Deb Mahan, with Gazette Charities noted that having a team of local experts is something that funders look closely at when deciding to support a project.  Thanks to Beau Kelly and Tyson Nunn with Nunn Construction for organizing such a successful event.
